自己紹介とこれまでの釣果

My name is Sylvain Garassus and I'm French. I often fish for carp in France. 
In France we generally consider a very big carp is a carp over 20 kg. My personal best is 25 kg . France is a good place for carp fishing : lots of people from other countries of Europe (especially England, Germany, Holland...) come to France to fish a big carp.
In France we generally use corn or peanuts or home made baits named "boilies", some kind of hard little balls with artificial flavours. About pond snail, I can imagine what it is, but we don't use that in France. or at least Ｉ've never seen someone using that. But we sometimes use potato, too.

私はフランスのシルヴァン・ギャラッサスです。フランスでよく鯉釣りをします。フランスで一般に巨鯉と言えば２０ｋｇ以上の鯉をいい ますが 、私の個人記録は２５ｋｇです。フランスは鯉釣りの名所で、ヨーロッパの国々（特にイギリス、ドイツ、オランダなど）から多くの人達が巨鯉釣りのためにフランスにやって来ます。
フランスで一般的なエサは、コーンやピーナッツ、あるいはボイリーと呼ばれる自家製エサで人工的に味付けされた小さな硬いボールです。
（日本でエサに使われる）タニシについてはどんなものか想像することができますが、フランスでは使いませんし、少なくともこれまで誰か使っているのを見たこともありません。しかし私達も時々ポテトは使います。

So, that fish is a male of 25kg and 1,08m, that I caught in July 1998, in a big lake in central France. the bait was a boilie with orange flavour. the same week, I took 5 other fishes : 11,5kg, 14,5kg, 16,5kg, 18,7kg and 20,2kg (Ｉn France we generally weight our fishes, we don't measure them, cause we have different kinds of carps, and one can be 25 kg and just 90cm, althought another one can be 15kg and 1,05m...)

この写真は、１９９８年7月に中央フランスの大きな湖であげた２５ｋｇ、１０８ｃｍの鯉で、エサはオレンジ味のボイリーでした。これと同じ週に１１．５ｋｇ、１４．５ｋｇ、１６．５ｋｇ、１８．７ｋｇそして２０．２ｋｇの５匹の釣果がありました。（フランスでは一般に鯉を重さで表現し、長さは測りません。それは種類の違う鯉がいるためです。例えば２５ｋｇで９０ｃｍのものもいれば１５ｋｇで１０５ｃｍの場合もあるからです。）

お送りした他の写真については、鯉の重さを写真のファイル名にしました。最初の２匹は私のホームタウンの近くの大きな川であげた真鯉です。

the 3rd one is from a big lake in the south of France, and I caught the last one in the same lake than the 25kg one. all of them were caught with boilies.

３枚目は南フランスにある大きな湖であげたもので、最後の写真は２５ｋｇを上げたのと同じ湖（中央フランス）での鯉です。この４枚の写真の鯉はいずれもボイリーを使って釣りあげたものです。
